LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns have one of the best offenses in the country this season.
The Ragin' Cajuns were batting .317 as a team entering the Lafayette Regional this weekend.
Mississippi State saw first hand how good that offense is.
The No. 1 seed Cajuns pounded out 18 hits on their way to a 14-8 win over the No. 2 Bulldogs Sunday night to stay alive.
MSU (39-23) and Lafayette (56-8) meet again tonight at 6 p.m. in a winner take all game to advance to a super regional.
The 14 runs are the most given up the Bulldogs in a regional game since 2004 when Texas Tech beat them 17-7 in the Atlanta Regional.
The Cajuns scored a total of 25 runs in the two wins it picked up Sunday. They beat Jackson State 11-1 in the afternoon game.
