Frances V. Nash, 86, died Sunday, February 23, 2014, at the Laney Green House at Traceway Retirement Community after a lengthy illness. A Tampa, Florida, native she was born September 17, 1927, to Homer D. and Frances Lora Wilson Venters. She was a 1945 graduate of Hillsborough High school in Tampa, Florida and a 1950 graduate from Florida State College for Women now known as Florida State University with a degree in nutrition science. Formerly of Starkville, She was the cafeteria manager for a number of years with Starkville High School and worked part-time with First Baptist Church of Starkville’s Infant Toddler Center. She was the widow of Dr. Henry W. Nash who preceded her in death November 18, 2013. While living in Starkville, she was a member of First Baptist Church Starkville. After moving to Tupelo in 2001, she and her husband became active members of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and was especially fond of writing letters.
Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Memorial Garden Park in Starkville with Dr. David Eldridge officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Warren Leslie Nash (Valerie) of Birmingham, Alabama and Richard Dale Nash of Starkville; three grandchildren, John Wilson Nash (Callie), Warren Graham Nash and William Dixon Nash; and one great-grandchild, Ann Harper Nash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Homer Venters, Jr. and a sister, Virginia Venters Brown.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo.
