At 9:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, schools and businesses across Mississippi engaged in a tornado drill.
These drills were part of a Severe Weather Preparedness Week that Gov. Phil Bryant had declared for the state and a response to a test tornado warning the National Weather Service issued for the state on weather radios. Two of the schools that participated were Henderson Intermediate School and Ward-Stewart Elementary School, and Henderson principal Julie Kennedy said she felt the drills went well.
