Quantesha Patterson is a woman of few words.
In the few short months that first-year East Webster basketball coach Todd Hutchinson has known the junior, he says rather than spending her time talking, Patterson is busy soaking up all that is going on around her.
“From what I have gathered from other teachers and coaches is she is quiet,” Hutchinson said. “She is well-mannered. I have known her five months and I don’t know if she has said a paragraph to me. Instead, she is a sponge and uses what she learns to get better.”
Looking at Patterson play, it is clear she is putting what she takes in to good use. She may not say much, but her talent on the court is constantly improving and speaks volumes about her talent.
“Probably one of her best aspects is being so athletic,” Hutchinson said. “She can just run. Speed is a weapon. Like last game, she can just out-run others down the court, plus she has length. You put quick feet and long arms together, (and) they can cause problems for a lot of players. One of her advantages is being blessed with that. Great players have things you can’t teach and speed is one of those things.”
