Little has been much when it comes to the progress of the Starkville 9th grade boys basketball team so far this season.
After transferring from Starkville Christian School, Jesse Little is leading the SHS 9th grade team in scoring and rebounding.
Little has scored 23 points the last two games for the Yellowjackets and averages 16 points and eight rebounds per outing.
In a 68-63 victory over West Point, Little made four 3-pointers in a row.
Starkville coach Tony Minor said Little understands the game and that's why he has experienced success.
"He has a high basketball IQ," Minor said. "He knows the game and knows how to play the game. He knows how to use his teammates.
"If you look at the stats, you see the points, but he likes to pass the ball as well. He's playing good basketball all the way around."
