This year’s Fall Trunk or Treat Festival was supposed to be a first for First Baptist Church of Starkville.
Charity Gwaltney, FBC director of children’s ministry, said FBC had traditionally hosted inflatables outdoors and other activities inside FBC’s outreach center on or near Halloween. Trunk-or-treating combines tailgating with trick-or-treating by having families park their vehicles together and hand out candy to costumed children. It was an experiment Gwaltney said would have to wait.
