Beginning July 1, Mississippi residents could see more and more neighbors packing heat. House Bill 2, a measure which seeks to clarify the state’s existing concealed weapons permit laws, has some law enforcement personnel concerned. Most specifically, local police have questioned the clause that says a weapon worn openly in a holster is not “concealed” and therefore not subject to the state’s permit and licensing requirements.
