Sharleen Smith

Mrs. Sharleen Butler Smith, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs, La.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Double Springs Baptist Church in Maben.
Burial will follow 11:30 a.m. at Clear Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to service time.
Rabenhorst Funeral Home of Baton Rouge, La. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born June 26, 1926 in Self Creek. She was the proud wife of 65 years to Col. Calvin L. Smith. She was a proud mother, grandmother and friend. She leaves her legacy and cherished memories with her family.

Sharleen lived her life as a loyal Christian. She was a strong, hard worker and a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by daughters, Nena Huston (Rob) and Donna Carney (Gary); grandchildren, Lee Carney (Kristen), Deidre Carney, Triff Doming, Scott Carney (Rebecca) and Waverly Huston (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Dylan, Brantle, Ryland and Kynzie Carney; and sisters, Willie Love, Miriam McMinn, Jimmie Wesley and Gloria Parker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Calvin L. Smith; and parents, Charlie Edd and Clariece Butler.

Pall bearers will be Lee Carney, Scott Carney, Triff Doming, Lynn Crow, Shannon Crow and Charles Wesley.

Words are not adequate to express our thanks to the nurses, aides and staff at Harvest Manor for the love and kindness shown to Sharleen. They treated her with so much love and we thank them all very much.
