Mr. Archie Dale Chesser, 61, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at UAB in Birmingham, Ala.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Starkville with Rev. Russell Mord and Rev. Dan Robertson officiating
Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville and 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at First Baptist Church prior to service.
Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.
He was the retired owner of New Process Cleaners and Minister of Music at Sturgis Baptist Church and also former Minister of Youth. He served three other churches as Minister of Music and Youth, New Hope Baptist Church in Longview, Cedar Bluff Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church in Columbus.
He blessed his customers with his music and the joy of the Lord at New Process Cleaners and also served his customers as counselor, legal guardian, friend and shoulder to cry on.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Henry Chesser of Mathiston; daughter, Heather Parrish (Andy) of Pheba; sons, Todd Chesser (Laura) of French Camp and Trey Chesser (Emily) of Northport, Ala.; sister, Becky Eaton of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brothers, Kelly Parrish of Sarasota, Fla., Johnny Chesser and Gary Chesser, both of Starkville; grandchildren, Josiah, Elijah, and Mattie Grace Parrish, Breland, Ethan, Allie, and Annleigh Grace Chesser; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George D. Chesser and Mattie Sue Chesser; and brother, George A. Chesser.
Memorial donations may be made to UAB Kidney Foundation, Sturgis Baptist Church, or New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
