Mrs. Vivian Lee Thigpen Whitfield, 58, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at her son’s residence in Brandon.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Butler, Rev. Barry Robinson and Rev. Bryan Carrubba officiating.
Burial will follow in Adaton United Methodist Church cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home.
Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.
She was a retired manager in the Sample Department of Garan and a member of Adaton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Whitfield of Starkville; sons, Tommy Whitfield (Monica), David Whitfield (Joan) and Paul Whitfield, all of Brandon; sister, Teressa Colburn; brother, Ira Thigpen (Sandi); and grandchildren, Abby, Breahna and Dylan.
Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her parents, Iverson Hoover Thigpen and Bessie Duke Thigpen.
