Oktibbeha County School District conservator Jayne Sargent signed a lease agreement for the OCSD's portion of the Oktibbeha County Lake and campgrounds at the district's meeting Monday.
OCSD 16th section land manager Mike Ainsworth said this 312-acre lease to John Barnett and Rick Stansbury will give the school district $31,290.25 in annual income. The 25-year lease will have readjustments every eight years, he said.
Orlando Trainer, president of the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors, said these 312 acres only represent the OCSD's portion of the lake. He said 95 more acres still belong to the county itself and have not been leased yet.
More details will follow in Tuesday's edition of Starkville Daily News.
