TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Mississippi State head coach John Cohen decided to change some things up in his lineup.
He gave left handed pitcher Luis Pollorena a chance in right field and the lineup.
"I felt like that part of our lineup we had a little more swing and miss and less contact," Cohen said. "The thing about (Pollorena) is I know he is going to make contact. He is very good athlete, he can bunt and he can move the ball around."
Pollorena went 1-for-4 with a walk in the 8-1 victory against the UAB Blazers. He has pinch hit this year and come into play defensively in the outfield late in games but had never started a game other than the mound.

MSU has been a double play machine all year long.

The Bulldogs turned their 70th in the ninth to end the game. Going into to Saturday's game, the closest team to them in the tournament had 60 double plays.
