It was a three-peat for the East Oktibbeha boys track team in Pontotoc on Wednesday as it won the Class A, Region 4, District 1 meet.
The meet was postponed from Tuesday because of inclement weather.
The Titans were able to sweep all of the relays and sprint events, but what impressed coach Randy Brooks was the field events.
"That really stood out because we had not done that well in field events in the past," Brooks said. "If you are going to win the state meet, you have to do well in the field events."
Jalen Peterson captured first place in the shot put, while Steve Bell won the high jump.
In some of the running events, Terrance Rice won the open 400 meters, while Courtland Petty captured the 300-meter hurdles, Ocktavis Rogers, a freshman, was first in the 110-meter high hurdles, and Renaldo Harris won the 100-meter dash.
The Lady Titans finished second in the district, but also came up with some nice performances as they also swept relays and sprints.
"I was pleased with both teams," Brooks said of the boys and girls.
East Oktibbeha turns its attention to the Class A Regional meet set for April 28 at Winona.
