Quilla Jackson

Mrs. Martha Quilla Oswalt Jackson, 77, of Sturgis, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
Funeral services for Quilla will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Sturgis Baptist Church with Reverend Russell Mord officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sturgis Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
Quilla was born Oct.11, 1934 to Odie M. and Clara McClain Oswalt. She was a Baptist and a member of Sturgis Baptist Church. Quilla taught school in Jackson and Atlanta, Ga. She was owner and operator of Jackson’s Flowers and Gifts in Sturgis. Quilla loved directing weddings and fixing all the flowers for the church. She also made beautiful flower arrangements for funerals.
Quilla is preceded in death by her infant daughter; her parents, Odie and Clara McClain Oswalt; brothers, Archie Oswalt, Jack Oswalt, Ovid Oswalt and Quay Oswalt; sisters, Neola Oswalt (infant sister), Jeanette Oswalt Ivy and Angie Oswalt Long.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James Dale Jackson; sons, Lance Jackson and wife Linda of Starkville and Joby S. Jackson and wife Stephanie of Winona; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Quilla is also survived by her sister, Ola Maude Oswalt Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ovid Ivy, Dr. Chris Oswalt, Ricky Wilson, Hayes Hunt, Guinn Jackson and Ronnie Jackson.
Funeral services are under the direction of Welch Funeral Home.
