The postseason is upon us as high school teams prepare for first round matchups.

Girls action starts today in north and south half tournaments all around the state and local teams, East Webster, West Oktibbeha and East Oktibbeha start its run toward the Big House.

East Webster entered its division as the No. 4 seed, but won the tournament to take the No. 1 seed and home court advantage for the first round.

The Lady Wolverines won three games in four days and look to continue their hot streak. They are looking to get by Wesson in the first round and make it to the site of the 2A South State tournament.

The East Oktibbeha girls entered its division tournament as the No. 2 seed, but won a semifinal game and then took the championship game to earn the No. 1 seed from its division for the playoffs.

The Lady Titans get a first round home playoff game against Piney Woods and look to make it to the Class A South State tournament.

The West Oktibbeha Lady Timberwolves finished strong in its division tournament.

After a first round win, the Lady Timberwolves lost another heartbreaker to Tremont, but rebounded with a win over No. 1 seed Vardaman.

West Oktibbeha entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed and leave as the 3 seed. It travels north to take on Coldwater in Class A North State.
It's that time of the year where a team needs to get its whole game going.

That is what Lady Timberwolves head coach Marcus Johnson is stressing to his team.

"We need to focus on the little stuff," Johnson said. "We need to make free throws and rebound. We need to be ready to beat the press because teams are going to pressure us."
