Karalee Lambert

Karalee Lambert, 84, of Purdin, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at her home.
Meta Karalee, daughter of Earl McFaul and Alberta Deborah Ann (Smith) Campbell, was born Jan. 3, 1927, on “the old Maxwell place” northeast of Brookfield, Mo. On April 18, 1948, she married George James Lambert. Together for 63 years, they lived on their farm where they had established a dairy, livestock and grain farm. Karalee graduated from Shelby High School in 1945 and during World War II she taught for three years at the rural Thudium School.
She was an active member of the Bear Branch United Methodist Church where she served many years as Church Board Secretary, had taught Sunday School and Bible School, was song leader and was a member and officer of the United Methodist Women’s group. She was also a member of the Church Quilting Group for many years and continued to quilt in her home everyday.
Throughout her life, Karalee also served as a leader in the Shelby 4-H Club, a supporter of Linn County 4-H, secretary/ treasurer of the Shelby Community Center, member and officer of the Jolly Janes Extension Club and secretary of the Linn County Farm Bureau for 36 years.
Karalee was proud to have made and given all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a quilt on the occasion of their birth and marriage. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, quilting, embroidery work and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, George J. of Purdin, Mo.; three children, Debra Fairbrother and husband Tim of Starkville, Deena Moffitt and husband John of Winigan, Mo., and Dane Lambert and wife Patty of Purdin, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Scott Fairbrother and wife Kristi, Scarlett Wallace and husband Tommy, Samuel Fairbrother, Sarabeth Fairbrother, Kristen Patchin and husband Jeff, Cynthia Dwyer and husband Brett, Chelsa Jackson and husband Brian, Paige Lambert and fiancé Bo Brown, and Damon Lambert; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and one brother, Bryan M. Campbell and wife Shirley (Guyer), preceded her in death.
