Mrs. Evelyn âBiddieâ McClelland Cherry, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.Â
She was a homemaker and member of Meadowview Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of Crusaders for Christ Sunday School class. She loved yard work and spring flowers. She was a great cook, with her caramel cake being one of her specialties.
Cherry was preceded in death by her husband, Hughie Stacy Cherry; and parents, Rogers Earl McClelland and Anna Boyce Holliman McClelland.
She is survived by her daughter, June Cherry Dempsey of Starkville; son, Stacy Cherry (Sue) of Starkville; sisters, Ida Mae Earline Inzer of Nashville, Tenn., and Neva Hutchinson of Starkville; and two grandchildren, Brad and Todd Cherry.
Visitation for Mrs. Cherry is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville .
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, in the Welch Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Jason Middleton will officiate. Burial will follow at Craig Springs Cemetery in Sturgis.
