Starkville's latest home bowling match with East Webster finished in a draw Thursday afternoon.
The boys and girls both finished in a 2-2 tie.
Even though there was no clear winner, Starkville coach Jim Philamlee seemed happy with his team's effort.
"I'm pleased," Philamlee said. "The girls are doing a lot better and the boys are about the same as they have been. All of our bowlers are improving their scores every week."
East Webster coach Christian Jones was happy with how his team performed for the most part
"We had a set of guys that swept and were on their game," said Jones. "The other guys had a bad day and they weren't picking up spares or being focused. Same thing on the girls side."
The group of Wolverines that swept the Jackets won by the score of 1,501-1,356, but the on the other lane the Jackets picked up the 1,348-1,241 win.
Starkville senior Rob Montgomery was the high scorer overall with 572 total that was topped off by his 202 game that he finished with three consecutive strikes.
"I tried to stay concentrated all day," said Montgomery. "That's a big thing for me to be able to stay focused on the lane and that helped me be successful."
Starkville's Dalvin Tate finished second overall with 500 total.
On the girls side, Starkville's Mariah Newman bowled a 347 and senior Dessica Ivy finished with a total of 266.
"I concentrated on getting my spares," said Ivy. "I think that rally helped the team and we won all three of our games on my lane."
The Lady Yellowjackets won one lane by the score of 978-905, while the Lady Wolverines won the other lane 988-750.
The junior varsity didn't get to compete on Thursday due to East Webster not having enough players, so Starkville remains 8-0.
Both schools are taking next week off but will be in action again on Dec. 1. Starkville will travel to Olive Branch that day while East Webster will have a phone match with Nettleton.
