The Greater Starkville Development Project is hosting a girl’s night out event tonight filled with wine tasting and shopping.
The unWine Dowtown event will be begin at 6 p.m. tonight with an exclusive 25 percent discount at 14 downtown boutiques and wine tastings provided by Oak and Steel.
“We decided that we wanted to have a ladies’ night shopping event in downtown Starkville, and we though the fall would be a perfect time,” Jennifer Gregory, GSDP vice president for tourism development, said. “It’s a great opportunity for people to do some early Christmas shopping and have a fun night out with the girls.”
Sundial, Polka Tots, Thyme, Occasions, Mary Virginias, Reeds, R. Tabb and Co., Oooh La La, Harmonie Boutique, Libby Story, Frock Fashions, Purple Elephant, Book Mart and Cafe and Aspen Bay will all be participating in the event. Those who have purchased tickets can stop by the GSDP office today at 6 p.m. to pick up their wine glass and menu which type of wine will be served at each store.
“Oak and Steel will give 10 percent off any one item to any one that brings in the menu card,” Gregory said. “They did a really great job of selecting wines that are really affordable. Our hope is that the ladies shop, buy some great things downtown, then can purchase some great wine for entertaining during the holiday season.”
There will also be an exclusive after party dinner at Central Station Grill starting at 8 p.m.
“At the after party, you’ll be getting a signature cocktail, called the ‘Autumn-tini,’ and a choice of two menu items,” Gregory said. “They created all the menu items just for us and they’re all very fall-inspired.”
Tickets for the unWine event are $20 and $40 for unWine and the after party at Central Station Grill, though as of press time Wednesday, there were only a limited number of spots left for the after party.
Tickets are still available for both events at the GSDP office on Main Street.
