For those who love the sourdough buns and gourmet patties, it comes as no surprise that Mugshots was named Starkville’s Best Burger.
And Starkville residents are not the only ones who love the burgers at Mugshots. For the fifth year in a row, Mugshots was named the Best Burger in the Best of Mississippi 2011 Readership Poll for Mississippi Magazine, listed in their July/August 2011 issue.
Mississippi Magazine said “A recurring favorite, Mugshots offers one of the most diverse selections of gourmet burgers in Mississippi. For a challenge, try to finish ‘The Mugshot’ in 12 minutes or less, of if you’re feeling adventurous, try the unique ‘Anthony’s Peanut Butter Burger.’”
“Words will not do justice to the quality of our burgers,” said Patrick Quinn, general manager of Mugshots Grill and Bar in Starkville. “From the 8 oz.  flame grilled patty, to our tasty sourdough bun, and all our options of toppings we feel our burger speaks for itself. It’s all about the bun.”
Quinn said as for the most popular burger, there is really no competition.
“The McDonald is by far our best seller,” Quinn said.
Starkville loves the McDonald burger. Named for Mugshots owner, Chris McDonald, the McDonald has an 8 oz. seasoned patty, loaded with bacon, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, ranch, lettuce, tomato and red onion.
And for diners who are up for a challenge, the Mugshot features three seasoned patties, six strips of bacon, cheddar and swiss cheese, mayonaise mustard, lettuce, tomato and red onion served with beer battered fries, an onion ring and a beer battered pickle. According to the website, finish the whole plate in 12 minutes or less and it is “on the house.”
Quinn said Starkville Mugshots has had many people try The Mugshot recently however they have not had a successful attempt in six months or so.
For a taste of the best burger in Mississippi, stop by the Starkville location (if you can get a seat) on the corner of 101 N. Douglas Conner Street and University Street in downtown Starkville. Call at 324-3965 or check out the website at http://www.mugshotsgrillandbar.com.
