East Webster

From Staff Reports

CALEDONIA – The East Webster Wolverines found out that the Caledonia Confederates had a rude welcoming planned for its game in Lowndes County Friday night.
East Webster could never get anything going offensively and lost a 24-0 decision to Caledonia.
After a scoreless first quarter, Onterrio Lowery got the scoring started for the Confederates with a 27-yard run in the second quarter.
Caledonia scored again in the second quarter on a 9-yard run by Tyler Armistad, but the extra point failed to leave the score at 13-0 at halftime.
The Wolverines held the Confederates to only a 28-yard field goal by Josh Kugel in the third quarter, but the home team put the game away in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Ben Marchbanks. Marchbanks completed a 2-point conversion pass to Trey Lancaster.
East Webster had 72 yards rushing, but had nothing to show in the passing game and was intercepted five times.
Sharek Clark, a 9th grader, had 35 yards on eight carries to lead the Wolverines. Another 9th grader Monterrious Davis added 26 yards on nine carries.
The highlight for East Webster defensively was an interception by McKinley Hollenhead.
The Wolverines (2-2) will be on the road again next Friday at Walnut.
