One of the biggest food trends of the decade is proving to be a popular dish at Harvey’s Restaurant.
Arma de la Cruz of Eat With Us Group said as people are becoming more health conscience, one of the most popular dishes is the Club Salad.
Starkville Daily News readers recently named Harvey’s Restaurant as Best Salad in Starkville in the 2011 Readership Poll.
“At Eat With Us we understand that our guests have a variety of tastes, preferences and dietary restrictions,” De la Cruz said. “Although, we can’t answer to every situation, we do the best we can to have a variety of healthy choices and delicious entrees at each of our restaurants.”
De la Cruz said Harvey’s and the other restaurants in the Eat With Us Group are a part of the HeathyDiningFinder.com program and have incorporated more vegetarian friendly dishes.
The restaurant also received the Best Place for a Business Lunch by SDN Readers.
“Your dining experience can affect the tone and efficiency of a business meeting, special event or any type of celebration,” De la Cruz said. “It is an honor that the community has faith in our consistency in great food and excellent service.”
“We are so proud that our restaurants have been supported by the community so strongly since 1981,” said De la Cruz. “We take pride in our employees. Hiring great attitudes is key. If you start with that then everything else within the restaurant business can be learned through proper training.”
“Our consistency in great food and service is dependent on our hiring practices, training and employee relations. Great attitudes is what we look for first. When you combine a great attitude with creativity and innovation in the kitchen, it’s a winning combination,” said John Bean, president of Eat With Us.
Another one of Starkville’s favorite dishes at Harvey’s Restaurant is the marinated ribeye.
Harvey’s was also recognized in Mississippi Magazine’s 2011 Best of Mississippi Readership Poll for Top Five Best Appetizer for the Broccoli Bites and Top Five Best Fine Dining.
“Our Chefs are so creative,” De la Cruz said. “They see what is the freshest produce, fish and other meats available each week and get their inspiration from there.”
De la Cruz said each of the partners and general managers read every survey and comment card that comes in the office.
“We take the feedback seriously and make adjustments where needed,” De la Cruz said. “We receive negative comments, lots of praises and menu suggestions. We welcome them all and are appreciative of constructive feedback.”
