Frances Howard

Mrs. Frances Howard, 89, homemaker of Maben, went to be with her Lord on August 15, 2011, at Oktibbeha County Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
Funeral services for Frances Howard will be held Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Maben with Rev. Tommy Temple officiating.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Maben.
Mrs. Howard died Aug. 15, 2011, at Oktibbeha County Regional Medical Center in Starkville.

Mrs. Howard was born in Maben, Oktibbeha County, MS on September 28, 1921 to the late Fred and Dora Hodges.  Mrs. Howard was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.  She was well known for her beautiful yard and lovely handmade crafts.  She enjoyed endless times of playing Scrabble with her friend, Dottie Dewberry and rocking on the front porch with her friend, Nellie Blade.
On February 15, 1941 she married Wayne Howard of Maben and to this union four daughters were born.
The family would like to thank Dr. Everett McKibben and his staff, Starkville Manor Nursing Home, Oktibbeha County Regional Medical Center and Kroger Pharmacy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 66 years, Rev. Wayne Howard; her parents, Fred and Dora Hodges; brother, Winfred Hodges; sister, Lila Hull; grandson, Timothy Byars; great granddaughter, Sarah Byars; and granddaughter, Kristen Hall.
Mrs. Howard is survived by her four daughters, Marjorie Tenhet (Johnny) of Maben, Sandra Byars (John) of Magee, Kathy Hall (Gary Hill) of New Albany, and Teresa "Lesa" Oswalt (Doug) of Maben; five grandchildren, Kevin Byars of Flowood, Scott Tenhet of Starkville, Valerie Hall of Brandon, Robert Hall of Blue Springs, and Tiffany Oswalt of Mathiston; and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Double Springs/Clear Springs Cemetery Endowment Fund, 375 Bluitt Rd., Maben, MS 39750; Baptist Children's Village, P. O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060-0027; or French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Byars, Scott Tenhet, Robert Hall, Lee Yates, Ron Bennett and Roy Hawkins.
