Mary Ellen Fondren

Mary Ellen Fondren, age 75, passed away at the Carrington Nursing Center in Starkville on August 6, 2011.  Mrs. Fondren was a retired homemaker. 
The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 9 at 11 a.m. at the Big Creek Methodist Church in Sturgis. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Big Creek Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Fondren is survived by one sister, Ann Walsh and her husband, Jeffrey of Sturgis; two brothers, William Ray and his wife, Faye of Maben and Robert Ray of Maben; and seven nephews and five nieces. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Fondren, Jr.; her parents, D.G. Ray and Anna Belle Clardy Ray; one brother, Jeff Ray; and one sister, Dorothy Ray.
