EUPORA â€” Mr. Michael "Mike" O'Neal Melcher, 48, maintenance supervisor at the Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center in Newport, Tenn. died July 28, 2011, at the LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville Tenn.
Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Thursday, August 4, at Clarkson Baptist Church in Webster County with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Avent Melcher of Newport, Tenn.; daughter, Senna (Chris) Melcher Hogan of Starkville; son, Michael O'Neal Melcher, Jr. of Greenwood; mother; Shirley Burgess of Mathiston; two brothers, James Melcher and Freddy Earl Melcher, both of West Point; and a granddaughter, Krista Hogan.
He was preceded in death by his father Freddy Melcher.
Mike was a veteran serving in the U. S. Â Army and was a member of the Newport Church of God in Newport, Tenn.
