Heather May Catchings passed away on July 26, 2011, in Houston, Texas.¬†Funeral services will be held in Houston, Texas,¬†Sunday, July 31 at 3 p.m.¬†A¬†memorial¬†will be held in Heather's honor Saturday, July 30,¬†from 1-3 p.m.¬†at the First Baptist Church Outreach Center in Starkville.
Heather was born August 25, 1981, in West Point. She was a graduate of Starkville Academy and Mississippi State University.
In 2005, Heather moved to Houston, Texas, where she¬†fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a teacher.¬†She taught fourth grade for three years in Houston, Texas, where she was named Model Teacher for her district.¬†She was also recognized at the National Teachers Convention for her teaching accomplishments.
Heather is survived by her husband Kelby and his son Ian; parents Keith and Myra May; sisters Lisa Read (Josh)¬†and Brittany May; paternal¬†grandparents Ubes and Janice May.¬†She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Thomas and Lois Germany.
