Heather May Catchings passed away on July 26, 2011, in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held in Houston, Texas, Sunday, July 31 at 3 p.m. A memorial will be held in Heather's honor Saturday, July 30, from 1-3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Outreach Center in Starkville.
Heather was born August 25, 1981, in West Point. She was a graduate of Starkville Academy and Mississippi State University.
In 2005, Heather moved to Houston, Texas, where she fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. She taught fourth grade for three years in Houston, Texas, where she was named Model Teacher for her district. She was also recognized at the National Teachers Convention for her teaching accomplishments.
Heather is survived by her husband Kelby and his son Ian; parents Keith and Myra May; sisters Lisa Read (Josh) and Brittany May; paternal grandparents Ubes and Janice May. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Thomas and Lois Germany.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
