Carl E. Clardy, 58, is seeking the office of District 1 Supervisor.
He is married to Judy Clardy. They have two daughters and one son: Stephanie Pinnix, Katrina Crowley and Shannon Cummings. The Clardys also have six grandchildren: Breanna, Sydney, Dylan, Grant, Jordan and Lexie. His parents are the late Boyd and Virgie Clardy. He is a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.
In announcing his candidacy, Clardy said, “I have served as District 1 Supervisor for three terms and I am asking for another term. I was previously elected District 1 Constable in 1984 and served one term. I also worked as shift commander for the Oktibbeha County Sheriff Department and was there for nine years.
“One of my top priorities is keeping taxes to a minimum. At the same time, however, we must also have a safe place to raise our children and grandchildren. We need good schools, fire departments, roads and bridges. We must remember that times are hard for everybody and we must work together and have a city and county we can be proud of.
“The challenges we face include the cost of living and unemployment, and we must make cuts where we can. We must continue to hope and pray the economy will pick up soon. We need to promote more business and industry into our area,” said Clardy.
