Sharp murder trial rescheduled for Sept.

The murder trial in the case against Leslie Sharp is scheduled for Sept. 26.
According to Oktibbeha County Circuit Court Clerk, Angie McGinnis, jury selection will begin at 9 a.m.
This will be the second time Sharp, 21, of Starkville, will stand trial for the murder of Christopher Cole on Nov. 10, 2008, in an act her attorneys argue was self defense.
The original trial took place in May, but ended in a mistrial after a juror became ill while in deliberation.
Jurors are required to stay together at all times once they enter deliberation. The ill juror needed immediate medical attention, which separated her from the rest of the jury. Subsequently, Judge Lee Howard declared a mistrial.
Sharp will be represented by attorneys Jack Brown and Mark Williamson. Assistant District Attorney Rhonda Hayes-Ellis will prosecute the case. Judge Howard will preside over the trial in the Oktibbeha County Circuit Court.
