A Starkville teen was arrested Tuesday in connection with a stabbing.
Starkville Police responded to a call about a fight in progress with possible weapons at 305 Everglade Avenue. When officers arrived, they saw a large crowd gathered around a stabbing victim.
“At first, it was just a fist fight, and then the individual armed himself with a knife,” Starkville Police Chief David Lindley said. “The suspect was chased down by the victim’s friends and held down until we arrived.”
Police identified the suspect as Domiekco Eubanks, 17, of 603 Yellow Jacket Dr., Starkville, who also suffered several injuries, including lacerations to his hand. He was transported to OCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Starkville Police would not release the name of the 15-year-old male victim. He was stabbed at the back of his neck and his lower back. He was treated and kept overnight at OCH.
Eubanks was charged as an adult with aggravated assault. He is being held at Clay County jail and his bond is set at $50,000.
Citizens with any information about this or other crimes should contact the Starkville Police Department’s Investigations Unit at (662) 323-0393.
