Jimmy Wayne Black, age 76, passed away on May 20, 2011 at OCH Regional Medical Center. Mr. Black was retired from Free Heart Bakery and Brookshire Ice Cream Company.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at Morgantown Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville on Sunday, May 22 from 5-7 p.m. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Ralph Wendell and Kevin Black.
Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents James Houston Black and Edna Mae Robinson; son, James Wayne Black; daughter, Millie Ann Black; sisters, Margaret Moore, Carolyn Marsh and Vondel Collier “PaPa” Black was survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Corine Black; son, William Lynn Black of Sturgis; daughter, Mildred Ann Abbott of Sturgis; brother, Lyndel Black of McCool; sisters, Helen Fulgham of Ackerman and Glenda Yeatman of Mathiston; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Dobbins, Walter Turner, Bud Gillis, James Meyers, Robert Abbott, Ronnie Rodgers, and Dave Nabors.
