Average Mississippi gas prices reported by MississippiGasPrices.com Tuesday remain similar to those reported last week, while the national average has fallen slightly.
The site reports a 0.3 cent per gallon drop in Mississippi’s average gas prices in the past week, which stood at $3.74 per gallon Tuesday. Meanwhile, the national average stood at $3.92 per gallon, 2.4 cents lower than a week ago.
That puts Mississippi prices per gallon $1.03 higher than the same day one year ago and 8 cents higher than a month ago, according to the site. The national average is $1.05 higher than a year ago and 11.8 cents higher than a month ago.
Little variation among Starkville prices was reported on MississippiGasPrices.com, with $3.81 per gallon reported at 10 locations: Shell stations on both Highway 12, Academy Road and Old Mayhew Road; BP stations on Stark Road, Azalea Lane, Lynn Lane and the corner of Montgomery Street and Highway 12; Texaco stations on Louisville Street and Old West Point Road; and Fast Break on Stark Road.
Strange Brew reported $3.80 per gallon, and the BP at the corner of Highway 12 and Spring Street reported $3.79 per gallon. The lowest reported price, still above the state average, was $3.78 at Kroger.
