Geraldine Pollard Fulgham, 81, passed away on May 12, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, surrounded by her husband of 63 years and her five daughters, after a short battle with cancer.Â She was born August 7, 1929, in Choctaw County to Lacy and Ruth Pollard.Â She had lived in Starkville for the past 60 years.
Geraldine was a kind, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who had a gift for making everyone feel special.
Â She loved her Lord which was evident through many years of Christian service.Â Geraldine was a long time member of First Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School class.Â She was also a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and Longview Homemakerâ€™s Club.
Â She loved sewing, tending her roses, decorating, and in her later years she especially enjoyed long visits with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Amos S. of Gulfport, James of Mathiston, Lacy, Jr. of West Point and Raymond and Norman, both of Starkville.
Â She is survived by her husband, C.E. (Gene) Fulgham of Starkville; daughters, Wilda Morris (Danny) of Brooksville, Janis Montfort (Frank) of Houston, Texas, Pat Wesson (Malcolm) of Tupelo, Cathy Chandler of Mantee and Martha Kegley (Russell) of Fort Worth, Texas; and grandchildren, Barry and Andy Morris, Lindsay Montfort Oman, Jennifer Wesson Strunk, Julia Wesson Tutor, Jared Wesson, Chris Chandler and Bradley Chandler; and 11 great grandchildren; and sister, Maggie Burgess of Maben, and four sisters-in-law.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 15 from 4-6 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.Â Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church Sanctuary in Starkville.Â Dr. Chip Stevens, Rev. Clifton Curtis and Rev. John Foles will conduct the service.Â Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund in Starkville.
