LOUISVILLE — Walter Raymond Trice, Sr., 88, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Veteran’s Administration Nursing Home in Kosciusko.
Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, today from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Bevill Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Trice, born September 1, 1922, was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Sturgis. He was a retired machinist with Hershedee Manufacturing and during World War II, he served in the United States Army.
Mr. Trice is survived by one daughter, Brenda Sue Woods and husband, James, of Greenville; three sons, William H. Trice and wife, Katie, of Maben, Stevon Trice and wife, Ann, of Mathiston and Walter Trice, Jr., of Coffeeville; one sister, Neva McIntosh of Mobile, Ala.; one brother, Dero Trice of Starkville; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren..
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Ruth Trice and three grandchildren, Shay Sloan, William Kevin Sloan, and Kayla Nicole Chrest.
Pallbearers will be Joey Trice, Billy Trice, Doug Trice, Ken Jackson, Timmy Sloan, Josh Lindsey, Sloan Lindsey, and Daniel Sloan.
Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, located at 724 North Columbus Avenue in Louisville, is handling local arrangements.
