Authorities have issued warrants for an 18-year-old man who allegedly possessed a stolen weapon on a traffic stop last month.
Officers conducted the stop Feb. 23 around 9 p.m. in the area of 305 Everglade Ave., Starkville police said in a statement issued Friday.
During an investigation conducted at the stop, officers allegedly found Nicholas Monroe of 214 E. Pilcher St. – a backseat passenger in the vehicle – in possession of a 9-mm Beretta handgun, police said. Authorities say they determined the next day the weapon was stolen in the burglary of a residence.
Police said they did not have additional details on hand Friday.
