One Starkville couple will be celebrating a special anniversary on Valentine’s Day.
The Pierson family will be celebrating the the 60th wedding anniversary of their parents, Melvin D. Pierson and Regina (Boyer) Pierson of Starkville, of formerly of Danville, Ill.
The couple were married on February 14, 1951. They will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in Starkville. The family said they give thanks to God for their long, happy and fulfilling marriage.
The Pierson's have five children- Patricia Mullis of Maben, Robert Pierson of Bismarck, Ill., Carol Stone of Rushville, Ill., John Pierson of Gilbert, Ariz. and David Pierson of Mesa, Ariz. They have 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Melvin worked as a meat cutter at the local A&P store in Danville, Ill. for many years and retired from Von's Grocery store in Vista, Calif.
Regina is a homemaker.
The Pierson's travelled west where they lived in California and Arizona before settling in Mississippi several years ago.
The Pierson's enjoy camping and golfing and spoiling their beloved Maltesse, Max.
They are very loved by their children, Pat, Bob, Carol, John and David.
