Elizabeth "Lib" Cornell Matthes Click, 79, widow of the late Lt. Col. James Calvy Click of the U.S. Marine Corps died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at Loris Community Hospital.
Mrs. Click was born in Myrtle Beach, S.C. the daughter of the late Ralph Kenneth and Thelma Frazier Matthes. She served her country as a Marine Corps officer's wife for 25 years. Upon retiring, the Clicks returned to Horry County and founded Tamroc Kennel at Myrtle Beach. The Clicks also were founding and active members of the Myrtle Beach Kennel Club.
Mrs. Click graduated from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. and taught history.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Clark are her daughter, Elizabeth "Bette" (Adam) Krivatsy of Sausalito, Calif.; a son, James C. "Jim" Click Jr. ( Mary Teresa "Terri") of Conway; four grandchildren, Jessica Calvy Click of Manhattan, N.Y., Robert Brent Click of Greenville, S.C., and Mary Kathryn Click and James Adam Click of Conway; a brother, Dr. R. Kenneth (Barbara) Matthes of Starkville; and three nieces, Mary Matthes Guilbeau, DVM, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Frances Matthes Black of Starkville, and Jo Matthes Merrick of Sydney, Australia; a sister-in-law, Claire Jean Clapp of Houston, Texas, and a nephew, Noel Thomas Clapp of Seguin, Texas.
Services will be held in April.
