Image of B-Quik robbery suspect released

January 29, 2011

Starkville Police Department detectives have released images of the suspect who held up a convenience store on South Louisville Street at noon Tuesday in hopes of generating leads that help them identify him.
The images show the suspect at the checkout counter of the B-Quik/BP store at the intersection of South Louisville Street and Lynn Lane
Police were notified of the robbery when a call was made to E-911 operators at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect entered the store wearing blue jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front. He had a red bandanna covering his face. The image, taken from store security system video footage, also shows the suspect wearing dark-colored shoes.
Brandishing what police described as a semiautomatic handgun, the suspect, described as being 6 feet tall, robbed the store of an unspecified amount of cash and fled on foot, heading south.
Police Department detectives could not confirm whether the suspect ran toward an apartment complex located directly across Lynn Lane from the convenience store. The convenience store was shut down immediately after the incident and remained closed into the mid-afternoon hours.
The investigation into the robbery is continuing, police said.
SPD detectives are asking anyone who may have seen anyone suspicious or who has information about the incident to contact the department at 323-4131 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
All Crime Stoppers tips are confidential and could result in a reward of up to $1,000 for the caller if the tip results in an arrest in this case or any felony crime.
