A national speaker will offer sessions with to non-profit board members as well as those in business in a day-long series of events next month, an official said.
Bringing Patrick McGaughey to the Golden Triangle is an example of the three communities working together on a project, said Allison Matthews, vice president of membership and community development for the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
â€śWe all knew what a dynamic, amazing speaker and trainer that Patrick McGaughey is and we are working together to bringâ€ť him to the region, she said.
On Feb. 10, McGaughey will come to Starkville. The session titled â€śHigh Performance in Todayâ€™s Economyâ€ť from 10 a.m. to noon will be â€śgreat for anybody in business,â€ť but especially those in leadership, management and entrepreneurial positions, said Matthews.
Tickets for this session are $35 for general admission and $20 for GSDP members. For most of the afternoon, McGaughey will lead the â€śNational Customer Sales and Service Instituteâ€ť session from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
â€śWe expect this to be the session with the most widespread appeal. Everybody can improve in this area,â€ť Matthews said. â€ś... Itâ€™s vital to their business that every employee ... is constantly striving to deliver exceptional customer service.â€ť
Matthews said: â€śMany employers want to help their employees grow in the areas of customer sales and service and thatâ€™s one reason we wanted to provide this seminar in Starkville. If a business does not deliver strong customer sales and service, it will have a negative impact on their profits.â€ť
She also said: â€śWe want to see all of our local businesses be profitable, successful and build a long-term positive reputation. We believe that this seminar Patrick McGaughey, will assist the businesses that participate as they enhance their customer service efforts.â€ť
Regardless of whether â€śa business is in the field of offering a product or a service, and no matter the size of the company, this training will be relevant and applicable,â€ť she said.
Tickets for the afternoon session will be $35 for general admission and $20 for GSDP members.
From 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., McGaughey will take part in the â€śBest Boards in America Breakfast,â€ť a session for members of non-profit boards. GSDP board members will be in attendance, she said, adding anyone from â€śany of our non-profit organizations are welcome to purchase tickets for that event,â€ť Matthews said.
Tickets for the breakfast will be $25 for general admission and $15 for GSDP member organizations.
The breakfast session will be at Hilton Garden Inn, while the mid-morning and afternoon events will take place at the Starkville Sportsplex. He will be in Columbus on Feb. 8 and West Point on Feb. 9.
â€śI would encourage anyone in Starkville toâ€ť attend the GSDPâ€™s seminars on Feb. 10 â€śbut if they have a schedule conflict on the 10th, make it a priority to attend any of Patrickâ€™s seminars in the Golden Triangle that week. I do not want our businesses to miss this opportunity,â€ť Matthews said.
