RIDGELAND –– Wynn Hardin McAllister, age 24 of Jackson, died from injuries sustained in a car accident in Starkville on Monday, December 27, 2010.
Wynn was born on November 22, 1986, in Jackson. He is the son of John McAllister and Susan McAllister of Ridgeland. He graduated from Jackson Academy in 2005. In May, 2010, he graduated from the Culinard School of Culinary Arts in Birmingham, Ala. He was employed by Aramark at Mississippi State University.
Wynn had a love for family and friends. His greatest joy was watching and attending games of his beloved New Orleans Saints. He always wore his Saints jersey for each game. He also loved cooking unique dishes for his family and friends. He loved to don his chef hat and impress his Mom with his crème brulee.
In addition to his parents, Wynn is survived by his brother, Sam McAllister of Birmingham, Ala.; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.S. McAllister of Jackson; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Elliott of West Point; his aunt, Gayle Elliott of West Point; uncles, Bob (Judy) Elliott of Birmingham, Rusty and Conner McAllister of Jackson; cousins, Drew (Kelli) Anthony, Cory (Joan) Anthony both of Starkville, Jonathan (Emilie) Rhoades of Marietta, Ga., Lindsey and Christopher Martin of Birmingham, Ala., AnnaClaire Elliott of Birmingham, Ala. and Russ and Dave McAllister of Jackson.
The pallbearers were Drew Anthony, Cory Anthony, Jonathan Rhoades, Christopher Martin, Taylor Hildebrand and Jay Stroble. Vocalists will be Taylor Hildebrand and William Cole.
Visitation was Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland. A celebration of Wynn’s life was held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at noon at Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson.
