Multiple meetings are scheduled to take place this week in Starkville.
Planning and Zoning Commission
The Starkville Planning and Zoning Commission will meet today to discuss the following items on its agenda:
• A public hearing requested by Mark Welch for approval of a zoning change at 711 Vine Street from a multi-family (R-3) district to a buffer (B-1) district.
• A pubic hearing requested by Welch to allow a parking lot at 711 Vine Street.
• A request by Tabor Construction and Development for approval of Belle Grove Condominiums - Phase 2, a final condominium plat, located at 300 River Road.
• A request by Starkville 12 LLC for approval of Residence Place, a final subdivision plat, located at 335-341 MS Highway 12 West.
• A request by Garry Hughes for approval of Reed Place Subdivision, a preliminary residential plat, located at 800 Reed Road.
• A presentation by Mark Nicholas, partner in the Cotton Mill Development Group, on recent developments with the Cotton Mill Marketplace project.
The public meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall courtroom on Lampkin Street.
Board of Adjustments
The Starkville Board of Adjustments and Appeals will meet Wednesday to discuss a request from Little Properties
Inc. to allow a height increase for a proposed hotel at 982 MS Highway 12 East.
Little Properties is asking for a 21-foot increase from the maximum 45-foot height allowed for hotels in order to build a 66-foot structure.
The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Starkville Building Department on the second floor of City Hall located on Lampkin Street.
City-County-MSU Roundtable
Top officials from Oktibbeha County’s biggest institutions will meet on Wednesday at noon to discuss opportunities for collaboration, Starkville Mayor Parker Wiseman said.
The quarterly meeting held at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership building on Main Street will include Wiseman and Starkville Chief Administrative Officer Lynn Spruill, President of the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors Marvell Howard; GSDP President and CEO Jon Maynard and Mississippi State University President Mark Keenum.
The meeting will start at noon.
