The funeral for Susie B. Isaac-Nichols will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Austin Church of Christ Holiness USA. Burial will be in the Sessums Cemetery. Elder Chester Mangum will officiate.
Visitation was held from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, with a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m., at West Memorial Funeral Home, which is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Isaac-Nichols passed away Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at her home in Starkville. She was 94 years ago. An Oktibbeha County native, she was born Feb. 6, 1916, in the Sessums community to the late Rev. Thomas and Rebecca Isaac.
An educator, she was a faithful member of the Austin Church of Christ Holiness UA, attended the Austin Community Public Schools and was married to Bert Nichols, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Albert Nichols.
Survivors include her daughters, Josie (Maurice) Prater of Colorado Springs, Colo., Betty J. Harris of Starkville and Hilda Weaver of West Point; sons, John T. (Mary) Williams and John R. (Gloria) Holmes, both of St. Louis, Mo., Frank J. (Mary) Nichols and Larry Nichols, both of Starkville; brother, Daniel Isaac of Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren whom she raised as her own; James “Cubby” (Jackie) Harris, Cynthia H. Clark, Vickie H. (Jimmie) Perkins, Carla H. (Ferrish) WIlliams, R. Frank Nichols, Craig Nichols and Lance (Shunta) Nichols, all of Starkville; Jamar (Andrea) Kincaid of Phoenix, Ariz.; and 21 other grandchildren, 58 great-children and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
