Another family was left homeless late Thursday afternoon when a fire ripped through their mobile home at 1625 Blackjack Road near Blair Road in east Oktibbeha County.
Though part of the mobile home was left standing, smoke and heat damage from the blaze damaged it to the point of being uninhabitable, and flames caused more than half of the home to collapse, said Rosenhan.
One of the home’s residents reported the fire shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, but fire officials could not confirm how many people were living there, Rosenhan said.
East Oktibbeha and District 5/Oktoc volunteer firefighters battled the blaze.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
