A group of Oktibbeha County volunteer firefighters recently completed the Volunteer Firefighter Certificcation 1 class. The classroom portion was taught by County Training Officer Keith Kinard. Skill testing was held at State Fire Academy on Nov 6. The training course is designed to provide the entry level volunteer firefighter with a foundation of knowledge and skills to build on. The course is administered through the local county fire training officer. Subjects covered include fire behavior, personal protective equipment, ropes and knots, etc. This course references National Fire Protection Association Standard 1001.
