Bobbie Parker Jones, 68, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born in April 14, 1942 in Selma, Ala., and spent her early years in Texas and Alabama.
She graduated from Livingston High School and went on to get her bachelor’s degree in education from Auburn University in 1963.
She subsequently completed master’s degrees from Clemson University and Mississippi State University and taught mathematics and later computer science in South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas and Mississippi.
After teaching for over 20 years, she served in the Pilot Club in Starkville for the Pilot Mini-Bus Project.
One of her many hobbies was knitting. She knitted and provided lap robes at Christmas to residents of the Mississippi Veterans Home in Kosciusko. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Robbie Jones is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Tom. M. Jones; daughter, Athena (Hans) Reiche and granddaughter, Elaine, of San Marcos, Texas; and son, Frank (Shelley) Jones of Woodstock, Ga.
