Festival of Trees Event opens with beautiful ideas for the holiday season

November 11, 2010

Be the first to bid on these trees, wreaths and houses at the 2010 Festival of Trees Holiday Party and Auction set for Thursday.
The black-tie optional party will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Palmerio Center.
Tickets for the Holiday Party will be $40 per person/$80 per couple, and a maximum of 250 tickets will be sold. Tables of 10 may be reserved for $400.
Organizers said tickets may be purchased in advance at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership Office, 200 East Main Street, Starkville; or the United Way Office, 1016G Louisville Street, Starkville.
For out of town patrons may e-mail to reserve tickets. Organizers said Tuesday that a few tickets will be sold at the door, but it would be best to get tickets early.
Jennifer Gregory, coordinator for this year’s event, said people can expect live music, eclectic local food, beverages, live auction, and the finale of the silent auction at Thursday’s event.
“Elaborately decorated Christmas trees, gingerbread homes, silent auction items, and more will be sold to the highest bidders at this authentic Christmas event,” Gregory said.
Tickets are also available at the GSDP office for Saturday’s Cookies with Santa event.
Stopp by the Palmerio Center today from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. to view all of the auction items and get a few ideas for the holidays. Tickets are $5 at the door. All proceeds go to the United Way of North Central Mississippi
