Can we stop being Digi-Faces?

Warning: The following is yet another gripe-fest from an old fogey wanting people to put down their cell phones yet won't put down his own. Sorry for the inconvenience … and the hypocrisy … but please read below.
Yes, it's true. We all know we're doing it, much the same way we know we're over-consuming fast food and watching too much television. Our hours in front of the small, handheld screen is sucking away our time, our money, our productivity and our social functionality. Still, we give over to it anyway, much like we do a double cheeseburger or our favorite TV show, because we just can't help ourselves.
