Help sought for Get Swept Up

August 15, 2014

Libby Gerald, volunteer coordinator for Get Swept Up, likens the event to preparing for company at home.

If a family is having guests over — for instance, to watch a football game on TV — it’s common for the family to clean their home, so it makes a good impression on guests. So it makes sense, Gerald said, for all of Starkville’s citizens to make the city as clean and litter-free as possible for all the guests coming to town for Mississippi State University’s football season opener against the University of Southern Mississippi.
