Goal keepers are ultimately responsible to keep opponents from scoring in soccer when there is a shot on goal.
It is also their responsibility to make sure the defense is set in the best possible position to be successful.
The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers have one of those type of keepers in senior Janiece Pigg.
Pigg has very good skills in the net for the Lady Vols, but the thing coach Cole Andrews appreciates more than anything else is her leadership.
Andrews saw that on display during Starkville Academy's 3-0 victory over Pillow Academy Tuesday, which was Pigg's first match back from injury.
