Mississippi State announced Tuesday the new Dudy Noble Field Master Plan, a $40 million facility project, that will make it one of the finest venues in college baseball.
The timetable for the project is based on the Bulldog Club reaching its $20 million private fundraising goal with those efforts already underway.
"It's exciting where we are," MSU Athletic Director Scott Stricklin said. "We have a long road ahead of us and we have to figure out some funding, (and) we have to raise some money. We want to be aggressive as we can on the fund-raising side."
Stricklin said the plan is flexible and the reason for releasing the preliminary drawings and schematics is to receive feedback. It will not be a renovation, but more of an entire rebuild.
"The deeper we got into it and the more you looked at what our desires were versus what we had to deal with in the current facility as far as some challenges, it became more apparent this made the best sense," Stricklin said.
